McDonough man sentenced 20 years for downloading child porn

MCDONOUGH, GA – A Henry County man will spend the next 20 years in prison for possessing hundreds of images of toddlers and elementary school-aged children being sexually assaulted.

Today, Henry County Superior Court Judge Pandora E. Palmer sentenced Jarrett Leopard to the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Leopard, 39, also must register as a sex offender for life and pay a $5,000 fine.

Leopard was convicted of all 20 counts of sexual exploitation of children on July 14 following a jury trial.

During the sentencing hearing, the judge called the images “horrific” and said the children in the images were raped and sodomized because there is a market for the type of images that Leopard possessed.

The Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force began investigating Leopard after he uploaded several child pornography images from his McDonough home to a public photo-sharing website. Henry County Police later got a search warrant and found more than 900 images of child pornography on Leopard’s cell phone.
