MCDONOUGH, GA – A Stockbridge man will spend his life in prison for killing his older brother.
A Henry County jury returned a guilty verdict against Deangelo Daniel, 26, on Friday night for charges of malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.
Following the verdict, Superior Court Judge Pandora E. Palmer sentenced Daniel to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The jury found Daniel killed his brother, Amouce Daniel, in August 2020 inside the Nova Circle, Stockbridge, apartment they shared. The victim was 27.
The evidence showed that the defendant stabbed his brother three times with a knife following an argument and then partially-severed his brother’s arm. He then threw the victim’s body in the bathtub.
The defendant solicited a friend to help him dismember and dispose of the victim’s body, but instead the friend contacted police. The police found the victim’s body, which had started to decompose, in the bathtub, three days after his death.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Sybil Price and Assistant District Attorney Glenith Williams.
